DESCRIPTION
The GDI Motortach performs Tachometer, Hour meter, and Flash Alert functions on ANY rotating shaft, rotating gear, or pulley. The Motortach rotating shaft tachometer system does NOT require any external power and can be used on Diesel engines, Compressors, Heating motors, Process equipment, Power equipment, Generators, or a host of other equipment. While the equipment is running, the RPM will be displayed on the digital shaft tachometer LCD. When the equipment shuts off, accumulated hours will be displayed. The provided pickup sensor only needs to be within ¼" to pickup a signal! FEATURES

OPERATION
Equipment manufacturers all recognize the importance of performing preventive maintenance. Basic maintenance extends the life of equipment and reduces operating costs and down time due to equipment failure. Flash Alert service alarms make it simple to track maintenance needs and be sure that services are performed at the correct time.
Flash Alert service alarms can be tailored to specific applications and up to 3 service alarms can be programmed into GDI's NewGen LCD hour meter series. Some of the messages available include:

INSTALLATION
Simply epoxy the rare earth magnet to any motor shaft (the tiny rare earth magnet is only 1/8" diameter and is feather weight). Use an epoxy that bonds to metal. Mount the RPM sensor to a bracket so the nose of the sensor is within 1/4" from the magnet face. Connect the 2 sensor wires to the 2 meter wires and you are done! Polarity of the wires does not matter.
Note 1: This product is tested at the GDI factory during and after manufacturing. Therefore, there may be up to one tenth of an hour (0.1) accumulated on the meter because of testing.
Note 2: Handling of the meter wires during hookup may cause the meter to run temporarily (show RPM). This is because of static and will stop after the wires are hooked up, or are no longer handled.
CAUTION: Only qualified personnel should make electrical connections. Disconnect power prior to working on electrical circuits. Failure to follow normal electrical guidelines may result in damage to equipment and/or serious bodily injury.
